چکیده

Urinary tract infections are gaining much importance among community acquired infections. Poor personal hygiene may act as a contributory factor in such frequent developing countries. The condition becomes serious with antimicrobial resistance uropathogens. Specifically, surge of Extended Spectrum beta Lactamase (ESBL) producers poses concern the available treatment options. Present work was aimed to observe bacteriological profile and susceptibility pattern uropathogens special reference ESBL producing strains. This study carried out microbiology department, SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana. Total 600 samples were processed per standard procedures i.e, microscopy, culture biochemical reactions followed by antibiotic testing interpreted CLSI guidelines. producer strains spotted double disc synergy (DDST). Out specimens, 128( 21.3%) showed positivity. Females contributed more compared males. 21-40 years age group highest isolation rate. E.coli predominant organism. Highest towards amikacin shown gram negative organisms. Gram positive organisms demonstrated high gentamicin, cotrimoxazole, ampicillin ciprofloxacin. 34.4% observed. Alarming rate well lactamase production increasing urinary should be considered potential threat community. Routine investigation done see burden order implicate advance policies treat

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern and Microbiological Profile of Uropathogens among Patients in a Tertiary Care Hospital in Bihar

Background: Urinary tract infection is one of the most prevalent infections. Microorganisms causing UTI vary in their susceptibility to antimicrobials due to widespread use of inappropriate and empirical antibiotic therapy. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is also the most common nosocomial infection. Objective: This study was designed to determine the microbiological profile and antimicrobial sus...

Bacteriological Profile and Antibiotic Sensitivity Pattern of Blood Isolates from Neonatal Icu of a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India

Introduction: responsible for approximately 25% of all neonatal deaths in the world. Neonates are at increased risk of contracting infections due to immature immune system. It is difficult in these babies because the clinical features of sepsis are subtle in these neonates. Culture and sensitivity remains the gold standard test to diagnose and treat neonates in this situation. Moreover knowledg...

Bacteriological Profile and Antibiotic Susceptibility Pattern of Neonatal Septicaemia in a Tertiary Care Hospital

Neonatal sepsis is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality among neonates worldwide. World Health Organization has estimated that 1.6 million deaths occur globally every year due to neonatal infections and 40% of all neonatal deaths occur in developing countries (WHO report 2006). In India, the incidence of blood culture proven sepsis was reported as 8.5 per 1,000 live births for the yea...

Microbial Profile and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern of Uropathogens Isolated From Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI)

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are defined as diseases which are caused by a microbial invasion of the genitourinary tract that extends from the renal cortex of the kidney to the urethral meatus 2 . Among UTIs acquired in the hospital, approximately 75% are associated with a urinary catheter 3 . Catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is one of the most important Device associated ...

Hospital and Community Isolates of Uropathogens and their Antibiotic Sensitivity Pattern from a Tertiary Care Hospital in North West India

BACKGROUND Urinary tract infection remains one of the most common infections, both in the community and in the hospital. The causative pathogen profile varies from region to region, but Escherichia coli (E. coli) remains the most common causative pathogen. The sensitivity of uropathogens to different drugs varies in different areas, and changes with time. This necessitates periodic studies of t...
